Did you know? Melvita means Honey (MEL) and Life (VITA) in Latin
Melvita started from a passion for bees and their invaluable role as sentinels of nature. Bees are facing a major environmental crisis with colonies declining year on year due the increasing usage of insecticides, of uncontrolled urbanisation or pollution.
Today, Melvita does its share by:
"because a world without bees would be a world without flowers, fruit, beauty..."
Bernard Chevilliat, Founder of Melvita
Honey bees form nectar into honey by regurgitating and storing it as a food source in wax honeycombs inside the beehive. Melvita only uses the excess honey so as not to endanger the bee colony.
Pollen is collected then transformed from a fine dust into balls by bees at the entrance of the hive.
Propolis is a resinous substance collected by bees from tree buds and sap to seal the beehive.
Royal Jelly is produced by bees to feed new larvae bees and the Queen.
